The company annual dinner committee worked together to host a warm buffet dinner at a hotel, giving everyone a chance to enjoy good food, good company and a well-deserved evening away from daily work. More importantly, it was a celebration of the teamwork that keeps the company moving forward.
The evening began with a welcoming atmosphere as attendees registered for the dinner. Each person received an adorable succulent or cactus of their choice as a thank-you gift for joining the celebration. It was a simple gesture, but one that made the event feel thoughtful, personal and warm from the start.
The opening started with our Sales Director, Mr Teddy Yam giving his speech, who sincerely thanked everyone for their hard work and dedication. The speech recognised the effort that often happens behind the scenes, from shared responsibilities and tight timelines to late-night sessions and daily coordination across teams.
In a software company, many contributions are not always visible immediately. A smooth client experience may come from careful testing, a quick support response, a well-managed project discussion, a feature improvement, or a team member staying back to make sure an issue is properly handled. The annual dinner was a reminder that these efforts matter and deserve to be appreciated.
This year’s annual dinner theme was cowboy, and the team brought the theme to life with enthusiasm. Everyone came dressed in their best cowboy-inspired outfits, creating a fun and lively atmosphere throughout the evening.
To make the theme more engaging, a best dressed contest was held. Two winners, one from each gender, were voted by everyone and received a mystery prize to take home. It added a friendly sense of excitement to the night while encouraging everyone to participate and enjoy the celebration together.
The cowboy theme also helped make the dinner feel more relaxed and memorable. Beyond the usual formal company gathering, it gave colleagues a chance to express themselves, laugh together and connect outside of their usual work setting.
Throughout the dinner, games were prepared to keep everyone entertained and engaged. The activities were light-hearted, but they also reflected the teamwork, communication and quick thinking that are important in MC Crenergy’s daily work.
The first game was a scavenger hunt, where attendees worked in groups to search for hidden sticky notes placed around the venue by the committee. Each sticky note carried different instructions and points. Groups had to complete fun tasks such as dancing to Gangnam Style, creating and shouting a group slogan, and singing Happy Birthday together.
The second game brought two groups face to face in a fast-paced multiple-choice challenge. The first person to answer correctly earned the chance to hit the opponent using a toy hammer, while the opponent defended with a cowboy hat. A successful hit earned 5 points, while a blocked attempt earned 3 points.
Both games created plenty of laughter, but they also encouraged teamwork, participation and quick coordination. The group with the highest combined score from both games won a treasure box filled with high-sweetness and quality confectioneries, giving the winners a fun shared reward to enjoy together.
While the annual dinner was a company celebration, it also reflected the culture MC Crenergy continues to build. Good teamwork does not only happen during projects. It is strengthened through shared experiences, trust, appreciation and moments where people come together beyond their daily responsibilities.

In the DATANORY ecosystem, different departments often need to understand how FMCG and distribution teams operate on the ground, from sales order taking and outlet visits to inventory checks and reporting. Another highlight of the evening was the lucky draw. All attendees had the chance to pick a random string from a covered bundle, with each string attached to the number of a displayed wrapped gift. It created suspense and excitement as everyone tried their luck to see which prize they would receive.
Towards the end of the dinner, the lucky draw results were revealed. Attendees were invited onto the stage one by one to receive their gifts, giving each person a small moment of recognition and celebration.
The night concluded with group photo sessions to commemorate the occasion. It was a simple but meaningful way to close the event, capturing the shared memories of a team that had come together not for a project deadline or client meeting, but simply to celebrate one another.
